BodenFrostFreitag is coming
Consumers frequently ask “When can I place my plants safely outside without the risk of frost?” The Flower Council of Holland aims to make it clear with the BodenFrostFreiTag campaign.
Boden what?
BodenFrostFreiTag is an awareness campaign which will be running in Germany from week 17. It uses weather forecasts to inform consumers about the capricious spring weather. It tells gardening enthusiasts when new plants can go outside and when they need to be protected from (potential) ground frost.
How it works
In short videos on social media a weather forecaster provides predictions in a documentary style. A digital weather forecaster can also send push messages when there’s an immediate risk of frost, together with tips of what to do with your plants. When the period of night frosts has passed we pick a Friday to celebrate the first frost-free day: BodenFrostFreiTag. The perfect day to head off to the garden centre, florist or plant shop with a big shopping list.
Possibly also in the Netherlands
The BodenFrostFreiTag campaign will be rolled out over the next three years, with the launch this year in Germany. The campaign may come to the Netherlands as well next year. The campaign period is week 17 and 19 (from 26 April). BodenFrostFreiTag will focus on the cities of Cologne, Berlin, Munich and Hamburg.
