All eyes on the Cupidrone
Love was in the air
The Flower Council of Holland's Cupidrone campaign was effective once again. On Valentine’s Day, the bright red drone delivered a flower with a love poem to besotted couples or other people who deserved a smile. It flew over Vredenburg square in the heart of Utrecht (the Netherlands). One of the lucky couples received a flower as well as a special surprise: a dinner voucher for two.

Fresh off the press: love is on the upswing again
Valentine's Day knows its way to loved ones again. Motivaction surveyed this year's Valentine's Day behaviour ... and what turns out? 32% of the Dutch celebrated Valentine's Day. That's an all-time high! And 30% more flowers were bought than in previous years and also for a higher average amount.
Lots of media attention
We announced the campaign via our own communication channels using a teaser of the Cupidrone. We also enlisted the help of the ambassador of love himself, Sergio from ‘First Dates’, to publicise our campaign in the Dutch RTL programme ‘Boulevard’ and thus inspire viewers to go to Utrecht. His message ‘Celebrate and express love’ really caught the eye. The message ‘Love is in the air’ was then spread by national and regional news media, radio and TV programmes, and lifestyle media. The results:
- Reach: 19,740,788
- Publications: 32 articles
The story was covered by e.g. de Telegraaf, AD, Bedrock, Bloemenkrant, RTL Boulevard, Hart van Nederland and via various influencers like @elizebeen, @bemoreunicorn, @declubvanrelaxtemoeders
