Shopper activation around orchids at Jumbo

Orchids are stealing the show at Jumbo at the end of August.

From 27 to 29 August these plants will be the weekend special, and the offer message is: ‘Buy an orchid this weekend and receive a free plant pot.’ The shopper activation forms part of the Thanks Plants campaign. Jumbo, Royal Lemkes, Orchidee Nederland and the Flower Council of Holland have collaborated for this promotion.

Upgrading the orchid
With this activity we are adding value to the orchid, so no price discounts, but a standard retail price with an incentive. Because what better way to thank your plant than with a complementing pot for your orchid? The promotion will be repeated later this year.

Promotion

We will be promoting this shopper activation in various ways.  Online this will take place through our Dutch consumer site Mooiwatplantendoen.nl (website, social media channels and newsletter), through Jumbo’s social media, and through the social media channels of OrchidsInfo. On the shop floor POS material (shelf edge cards, trolley header cards and sleeve stickers) will draw the customer’s attention, supplemented with an in-store radio commercial.
