Orchid in the spotlight at Jumbo

End of summer? That means it’s orchid time! Orchids were in the spotlight at the Dutch supermarket chain Jumbo from Friday 26 to Sunday 28 August. For the entire weekend, consumers received a fantastic free pot with their purchase of an orchid. This shopper activation is part of the Thanks Plants campaign and a joint initiative of Jumbo Supermarkets, Royal Lemkes, Orchidee Nederland and Bloemenbureau Holland.

Even more bang for your buck
The free orchid pot boosts orchids’ appeal to consumers, giving them a complete product for their windowsill at the regular price. In other words, this shopper activation means that we’re adding value for consumers rather than discounting the price. This strategic choice is geared towards boosting turnover and doing justice to orchids! The activation will be rolled out again later this year.

Maximum attention, in-store and online
Attention is the end-all, be-all of each and every shopper activation. Which is why we promoted the Jumbo orchid campaign through a variety of channels: online via Mooiwatplantendoen.nl (socials and newsletter), Jumbo’s socials and Orchids Info’s socials. Obviously, there was plenty of POS material in Jumbo’s supermarkets, from digital screens and shelf cards to trolley adverts and stickers on sleeves.
