Garden plants shine bright on Thejoyofplants.co.uk this summer

07 July 2020

There has never been a greater need for tips on how to to turn our garden, balcony or patio into a real oasis. Thejoyofplants.co.uk and our consumer sites in Germany, France and the Netherlands are offering consumers a rich dossier of content about how to make the best of your outdoor space,  and which garden plants to grow.

A summer garden that supports biodiversity
We are celebrating the summer season with plants. One important topic that we cover is how to grow a summer garden that supports biodiversity. How do you create a fabulous outdoor space that bees and other small creatures will love and benefit from? Thejoyofplants.co.uk shows how consumers can help with DIY tips and information about plants that are particularly supportive for this, featuring a varied range.

Garden plants combined with drought and heat
Consumers usually enjoy their garden and balcony during the summer period, but since the spring was very dry this year, natural watering in the form of rain cannot be taken for granted.  We offer advice on plants that can cope with drought and are a little more resistant to heat.  Plants do require care, but they also give so much back - they provide cooling and shade, and also help us to relax and connect with nature. The articles include plant guides, tips for a heatwave,  and articles about the summer in the garden.

Media support in the Netherlands and Germany
Starting on 19 June all content was available on Mooiwatplantendoen.nl and Pflanzenfreude.de. It is being promoted in June and July through various online (social) media. In the Netherlands, the online promotion was supplemented with a new commercial on various radio stations from 19 June - 2 July (including NPO Radio 1, NPO Radio 2, NPO 3FM, Qmusic, Radio 538, Radio Veronica, Radio 10, SkyRadio, 100%NL and Sublime) and on internet radio.

Collaboration
This campaign is a collaboration between the Flower Council of Holland and the outdoor plant growers at Royal FloraHolland. This group also has plans for a joint outdoor autumn campaign later in the year.
