Extra flower and plant campaign to launch in September
‘Fill the distance with beauty’ will be a collective and international campaign
The Flower Council of Holland (FCH) previously announced that it would be launching an extra flower and plant campaign after the summer. The initiative, which was initiated by the sector, is now receiving a lot of praise and support. What started out as “we need to do something” has now grown into a new campaign concept under the title ‘Fill the distance with beauty’.
Positive collaboration
The collective campaign - which encourages consumers to buy flowers and plants - is the result of a positive collaboration between over 30 international parties. A wide selection of stakeholders who are prepared to invest time and money in the campaign despite the coronavirus crisis. The Flower Council of Holland, which is coordinating the campaign, is delighted with the contributions and is also making a substantial contribution to the project.
Flowers and plants bridge distance
‘Fill the distance with beauty’ considers the emotional and physical distance between people that we have been experiencing since the start of the coronavirus crisis. A distance that we can fill so powerfully with flowers and plants. As FCH’s country manager Netherlands Simone Dussine puts it: “Plants and flowers are obvious products for filling the gap. We have seen over the recent period how naturally flowers and plants can symbolise joy, hope and happiness."
To be continued
We do not yet know the exact and final detail of what the campaign will look like, or which channels will be used to communicate it, but we do know that ‘Fill the distance with beauty’ will be the overall theme. It will be translated into an appropriate message in the various countries, and the Flower Council of Holland will announce full information about the campaign before September.
